I am a Research Fellow at the Institute of Visual Informatics (IVI), The National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM). My research interests focus generally on Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Player Experience (PX) in digital games, in particular, the immersive experience in gaming. I received my PhD from the University of York (UK). I worked with Dr. Paul Cairns during my PhD. My thesis investigated the effect of immersion on players’ time perception in digital games.
Currently, my research area focuses on understanding how digital games can be used to empower hospitalised paediatric cancer patients and gamification of oral hygiene practices among children in the urban poor community in Kuala Lumpur. Moreover, I am working on the modelling of users’ time perception while engaging with entertainment technologies such as digital games, films, and music etc.
